Logistics UK names J Murphy & Sons Ltd Van Business of the Year

Logistics UK has named global specialist engineering and construction company J Murphy & Sons Ltd as Van Business of the Year at its annual Logistics Awards, which took place in London last week (8 December 2022).

The category was sponsored by Logistics UK Recovery Service.

All the winners of Logistics UK’s Van Awards, which took place in September, were automatically shortlisted for the Van Business of the Year category at the Logistics Awards 2022. J Murphy & Sons Ltd was picked from the seven Van Awards winners for its commitment to recruiting a diverse workforce, with a focus on increasing numbers of female staff and strengthening equality, diversity and inclusion within the workplace. The company also focused on recruiting young employees by joining the government’s Kickstart scheme – a programme launched for 16-24-year-olds to help them into employment.

David Wells, Chief Executive at Logistics UK, said: “We are proud to recognise companies such as J Murphy & Sons for demonstrating excellence in their field and reflecting the core values of Logistics UK. The company has committed to breaking down historic barriers, ensuring that all employees, regardless of background, have the same opportunities to work and progress within the business. Its equality, diversity and inclusion programme and work with the Home Office to offer job opportunities and support to refugees from Ukraine is truly admirable.”
