M42/M6/A45 Overnight and Full Weekend Closures - 15-19 February 2024


Transport for the West Midlands has informed Logistics UK of three sets of essential works being carried out over the weekend of 16-19 February which will impact the A45, the M42 junction 5-6 and the M6/M42 link road.

A45 overnight closures  

The eastbound carriageway of the A45 will be closed from the Clock Interchange to M42 junction 6 over two nights this month.  

The overnight closures will be in place from 9pm to 5am on Thursday 15 February and Monday 19 February 2024.

M42/M6 link road full weekend closure (HS2 works) 

The westbound carriageway of the M42/M6 link road will be closed from 9pm on Friday 16 February to 5am Monday 19 February. 

The closure will be in place from the M42 southbound at junction 8 to the M6 northbound at junction 4a.

M42 junction 5-6 overnight closures  

The northbound carriageway of the M42 from junctions 5 to 6 will be closed overnight, from 10pm to 5am, on Friday 16 February 

Both northbound and southbound carriageways will need to be closed from junctions 5 to 6 overnight on Saturday 17 February, between 10pm and 5am

A clearly signed diversion routes with advance signage will be in place in all three areas to help inform drivers of the closure. 

 

Please note that these closures are subject to change by those carrying out the works at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances or poor weather conditions.
