Top of the world, ma! Generation Logistics wins prestigious international award

The Generation Logistics campaign scooped yet another award this week, being named Best Marketing Project / Initiative at the Association Excellence Awards.

Launched to tackle a long-term skills shortage in a critical sector, Generation Logistics is an innovative industry-backed campaign, supported by government, which aims to build awareness and appeal among audiences which may not have considered a campaign in the industry previously.

Underpinned by a comprehensive web presence, backed by sponsors from across the industry, Generation Logistics uses its significant digital presence to talk to target audiences in their own style and makes clear, educational links back to careers in logistics.

Topical and tactical opportunities make the campaign’s messaging relevant and fun, while real-life experiences connect directly with the target audiences. In its first year, the campaign increased overall awareness of the logistics sector among target audiences by 11% and positive sentiment towards careers in the industry has increased by 170%

The campaign was shortlisted with eight other projects, including international entries. Head of skills Bethany Windsor and Deputy Communications Director Rona Hunnisett went to the QE2 conference centre in London last Friday to attend the awards ceremony and were thrilled to have scooped the prize.

This is the latest of several awards that the campaign has picked up, including several marketing and pr prizes, as well as two awards at the recent 2024 Memcom awards.

For more information about the campaign please visit Generation Logistics or search Generation Logistics on your preferred social media platform.

The first stage of plans have been formally submitted for the creation of a huge rail freight interchange.

Intermodal Logistics Park North has submitted a scoping opinion for an environmental impact assessment to Warrington Borough Council, for land to the west of Parkside Road and Winwick Lane, and to the east of the M6 and Newton-le-Willows.

Parkside, the site including the former colliery site which continues to undergo significant industrial development, has freeport status and was reserved for rail development in the Local Plan adopted in 2022.
