Every week Logistics UK's Policy team are out and about meeting industry leaders and engaging with politicians and decision-makers. Recent meetings this week included... 

- Logistics UK's CEO David Wells OBE led the launch of our latest report in Parliament, with the panel discussion chaired by Bill Esterson MP, Chair of the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee, and attended by several other MPs and Lords. 

- Logistics UK's CEO David Wells OBE met with National Highways to discuss announcements made in the Autumn Budget including the delay of the Road Investment Strategy 3 programme.  

- The Public Affairs Working Group took place in Logistics UK's London Victoria office, and included guest speaker Iain Stewart, former chair of the Transport Select Committee, who shared advice on how to engage with MPs and influence the agenda. 

- Ellis Shelton, Senior Policy Advisor at Logistics UK attended the East of England All-Party Parliamentary Group and raised awareness of the, much needed, capacity enhancements at Ely junction. The enhancements would allow for 2,900 extra freight services to operate to and from Felixstowe every year. The APPG noted the importance of the Ely Area Capacity Enhancement (EACE) programme and said it would include reference to it in the APPG’s response to the Budget.  

- Ben Garratt, Deputy Director Public Affairs - Logistics UK, attended the Parliamentary reception of the UK Major Ports Group, and discussed the importance of logistics for economic growth and decarbonisation with newly elected MPs Jess Asato and Polly Billington MP. 

- Alexandra Herdman, Senior Policy Manager - Logistics UK met Transport Scotland following the launch of their Zero Emission Truck Taskforce.  

-  Nichola Mallon, Logistics UK’s Head of Trade and Devolved Policy, met with Cathal Boylan MLA, one of Sinn FĂ©in's members on Stormont's Infrastructure Committee, to discuss how logistics underpins Northern Ireland's economy.
