M25 closed in both directions between J10 & 11 this weekend, 15-18 March
Plus, Blackwall Tunnel closure date changes
National Highways will be closing the M25 in both directions between junctions 10 and 11 over a full weekend for demolition works.
This will be from 11pm on Friday 15 to 5.45am on Monday 18 March 2024.
In response to the M25 closures, Transport for London has decided to push back the Blackwall Tunnel works scheduled for this month to the following weekend, which would be 23 – 25 March, to maximise resilience on the network. As such, the Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to southbound traffic, through to the junction with Blackwall Lane, on the below dates:
· From 00:01 on Saturday 23 until 05:00 on Monday 25 March.
· From 00:01 on Saturday 13 until 05:00 on Monday 15 April.
Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance, checking before they travel so they can consider any other potential traffic impacts or restrictions, such as the height and weight limits at Rotherhithe Tunnel and Tower Bridge, both of which are outside the Congestion Charge zone. Traffic around Rotherhithe Tunnel and along the A13 Commercial Road are expected to be heavier than normal over the weekends due to the closures.

A retrofitted cargo vessel powered by hydrogen, to be used on the Rhine River between The Netherlands and Germany is expected to produce lower carbon dioxide pollution than comparative vessels while still making regular trips.
The H2 Barge 2 from Dutch ship owner Future Proof Shipping is powered by hydrogen, and it could revolutionise the short-haul shipping industry.
The H2 Barge 2 containership used to be powered by dirty fuel, but it has since been converted to clean power, suggesting that switching the powertrain of existing ships is feasible. That means companies do not need to buy new, purpose-built vessels if they want to reduce their planet-warming and water-polluting impact.
A second vessel will soon be launched in Paris under the EU's Flagships project. The Zulu 06 will make trips along the river Seine from late 2024, running on compressed hydrogen produced by electrolysis.
