Logistics UK attended the Zemo Partnership Net Zero Transport in the UK Roadmap launch, which sets out the interventions required across key policy areas to bring forward investment in zero emission technologies and low carbon fuels across transport modes. Logistics UK fed into this report through attending member working groups and was interviewed as part of the process.  

Met as part of the Alliance of Logistics Trade Associations (ALTA), who collaborate with the shared objective to express the importance of logistics to the economy to ministers.  

The trade association attended the Scottish Government's National Transport Strategy Business Group meeting, which focused on decarbonisation. Logistics UK awaits the Just Transition Plan for Transport, which is expected early next year. 

Met with West Midlands Combined Authority and East Midlands Combined Authority to discuss logistics skills of the future.    

Attended Veolia's fleet conference to talk about diversity and inclusion in the industry and flagged the work Generation Logistics does.  

Logistics UK met with the Northern Ireland Finance Minister to discuss the Minister’s plans for a review of rates policy and the cost of doing business in NI.    

Attended the Dual Market Access Forum set up by the Department for Economy in NI and Invest NI to tackle barriers and roll out a campaign to sell NI’s unique UPS around the world. 

Logistics UK was interviewed by UTV on the Northern Ireland Assembly vote on the Windsor Framework.  

Attended a Skills England round table, hosted by the Mayoral Combined Authorities, to discuss skills gaps and possible solutions in the advanced manufacturing sector and the relevance of logistics within manufacturing. 

Attended the Freight Innovation Cluster board meeting, which oversees the Freight Innovation Fund. Logistics UK presented at the Welsh Road Transport Advisory Group on Welsh policy activity for 2024, looking ahead at 2025, as well as the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness.
