DfT opens first five Brexit Information and Advice sites for hauliers

The Department for Transport (DfT) has opened its first five Information and Advice sites. These are designed to give hauliers advice on how to prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period on 31 December 2020.

Logistics UK is encouraging members who operate in the EU to visit these sites and ask questions, so they can understand how the new rules will affect them travelling to the EU from 1 January 2021.

The five pilot sites are:

  • Ashford International Truck Stop
  • Carlisle Stobart Truck Stop
  • Cullompton
  • Rugby Stobart Truck Stop
  • Warrington Lymm

A further 40 sites will open on 16 November at motorway service stations and truck stops. All sites follow the latest COVID-19 guidelines and can provide support in multiple languages, including Polish and Romanian.

Logistics UK is reminding members who visit these sites to follow social distancing rules, wash their hands and wear a face covering indoors.
