City of London Police warn of possible disruption 8-11 April

Logistics operations in London may face disruption early next week.

Statement by City of London Police:

We understand that the Youth Demand part of the new Just Stop Oil umbrella strategy are due to commence protests within London from Monday 8th April 2024.

This may include marches, blockade actions and building occupations. Whilst exact locations are not known to us at this time, target premises may include venues linked to political parties (most likely Conservative and Labour), cultural and sporting events, and oil and gas projects/organisations.

Due to this groups collaboration with Palestine Action their activity could also extend to Pro-Palestine/Anti-Israeli events and premises also.

We understand the groups' demands to be:

1) Imposing a two-way arms embargo on Israel

2) Stop new oil and gas development (oil and gas drilling)

The initial plans as advertised on the groups’ websites are:

Sunday 07/04/2024 – Evening gathering

Monday 08/04/2024 – Protest march and other actions

Tuesday 09/04/2024 – Rest day with evening events

Wednesday 10/04/2024 – Protest march and action in collaboration with Palestine Action

Thursday 11/04/2024 – Youth assembly and party

We understand that the 8th and 10th April will involve a march with the initial meeting point being at Victoria Embankment Gardens, WC2N 6DU at 1200hrs.

Whilst there is no direct information as yet that the City area will be visited or targeted by this group, we are providing information at this stage for your awareness. We will of course provide further information should this become available to us.
