Logistics workers are totally devoted – and we have the proof!
Jonny Johnstone, 45, a Tesco delivery from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, won an incredible £3.8m Lotto jackpot, but still returned to work a week later to make sure his customers got their goods in time for the festive period.
Now, that’s dedication.
As reported in the Independent, Jonny received “good news about his ticket” via email on 16 December after returning home from a Christmas work gathering.
Dismissing it as a small lucky dip win, he didn’t realise he’d become an overnight millionaire until the morning.
According to the report, Jonny and his partner, Christina Williams, celebrated with a simple cup of coffee and kept the bountiful secret to themselves till after Jonny returned to his click and collect shift on 23 December.
Upon revealing the windfall, Mr Johnstone told the Independent. “I’m still in disbelief. This is a dream come true for me and my family. I’ve always worked hard, and this win will allow us to do things we could only ever have dreamt of before.
“I am incredibly grateful and still trying to wrap my head around it all.”
Mr Johnston has two sons, aged 23 and 19, and a 20-year-old daughter, and has never owned a passport. He wants to take his family on their first ever holiday together with his winnings.

Stena Line and Seatruck Ferries award licences by Dublin Port Company
As part of this new shared freight terminal agreement, Stena Line will operate a new Dublin-Birkenhead (Liverpool) service commencing in mid-February 2024, while Seatruck Ferries and parent company CLDN will further develop their Dublin-UK services.
“It is essential for Ireland’s economy that we have strong availability and competition on direct shipping routes between Dublin Port and the UK,” said Barry O’Connell, CEO, Dublin Port Company.
“We are pleased to welcome Stena Line’s new Dublin-Birkenhead route which brings choice to the market, and to continue working with Seatruck Ferries and CLDN on growing its Dublin-Heysham service.”
At the beginning, Stena Line’s new freight service will operate with one ship departing Dublin early in the morning and making the return from Birkenhead in the evening.
