London Lorry Control Scheme restrictions amended for zero-emission vehicles from 1 July 2025

London Councils, the organisation that coordinates the actions of the 31 London boroughs and the City of London, has issued a formal notice to amend the traffic regulation order that governs the London Lorry Control Scheme to allow an extra weight allowance for zero-emission vehicles.

The restrictions on vehicle movements at night and weekends apply to vehicles greater than 18 tonnes but the new order will grant an exemption from the access restrictions for two-axle zero-emission vehicles not exceeding 20 tonnes.

Full details of the Control Scheme and the new order can be found on the London Councils website here.

The order came into force Tuesday 1 July.
