Is hydrogen the key to decarbonising van fleets?

As part of its campaigning work on vans, Logistics UK holds regular Van Policy Working Groups, where interested parties can discuss issues relating to the management of van fleets.

At the next meeting on Thursday 7 October 2021, William Darby and Ben Madden from Element Energy will be presenting information to members about the work of the Aggregated Hydrogen Freight Consortium (AHFC). The AHFC has a focus on hydrogen as a route to decarbonising fleets and Darby and Madden will answer questions about the practicalities of opting for hydrogen with van fleets.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Denise Beedell, Logistics UK’s Public Policy Manager, said: “The meeting agenda will be a busy one with topics including the recently published Transport Decarbonisation and Van Delivery Plans, and the Hydrogen Strategy. Members will also be updated on Logistics UK’s submission to the Ofgem consultation on Access and Forward-looking Charges Significant Code Review, which looked at proposals that will impact on the costs associated with increasing the electricity supply to depots.”
