Van Services and Products supplement offers overview on how to maintain safety and compliance

Van Services and Products, a Logistics Magazine supplement released this week (30 March 2021), offers an overview of not only the services and products offered by Logistics UK, but those of its many professional partners and suppliers too.

Logistics UK’s services for van operators are detailed in the first section of the supplement, covering everything from membership and policy to events and training. The middle section of the supplement is a suppliers’ directory, sharing details of the services offered by more than 45 businesses in Logistics UK’s Van Partner scheme. The final section covers a range of products available from Logistics UK’s Shop, ranging from the popular Van Drivers’ Handbook to specialist security products from TVL, all of which help van operators ensure the safe and compliant operation of their vehicles.

David Wells, Logistics UK’s Chief Executive, said: “As one of the UK’s biggest business groups, Logistics UK is uniquely well placed to help the industry professionalise its van operations. Our approach is both simple and practical: to offer a broad range of quality services and products to van operators, all designed to help them ensure their fleets remain safe, legal and compliant. I strongly urge you to read this useful Logistics Magazine supplement and retain it as a handy reference.”

DVSA CHIEF ANNOUNCES RESTART OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Loveday Ryder, Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), has written an open letter to vocational driving instructors about the restart and recovery of services in England and Wales. Both HGV training and driving tests will be able to restart by 12 April at the earliest. During the last lockdown, DVSA conducted between 2,800 and 3,000 vocational tests each week, but this means there is still 18,776 vocational tests in the backlog.
