Logistics Report 2021
Following the publication of the business group’s Logistics Report 2021, Logistics UK’s press team identified some of the themes most important to our members – skills shortages and rising costs – and negotiated coverage across a wide range of influential national, transport, trade and business titles, including Bloomberg and Motor Transport; the team also placed live interviews with policy team members on LBC News and BBC Radio Scotland. The skills shortage story had global impact, with coverage placed in national titles as far as Canada, India and Luxembourg; our ongoing media campaign work on this issue also secured coverage in the Financial Times and LBC in the UK.
Future Logistics Conference at the ITT Hub
With British astronaut, Major Tim Peake CMG, confirmed as a key speaker at Logistics UK’s Future Logistics Conference at ITT Hub, the press team secured promotional coverage for the event in key logistics titles such as Logistics Voices, Transport Operator, Bus & Coach Buyer, Manufacturing and Logistics, Transport & Logistics, and Fleet Transport.
Williams-Shapps Review
Logistics UK’s press team secured coverage of the business group’s response to the outcome of the Williams-Shapps Review – which laid out government plans for the future of the UK’s railways – across key titles including Global Railway Review, Lloyds Loading List, The Loadstar, Logistics Voices, and Freight Business Journal.
The month ahead:
Logistics UK’s press team will be promoting the business group’s upcoming events, including ITT Hub and the Future Logistics Conference, the Van Driver of the Year competition, and Transport Manager conference series. The team will continue to campaign for action on skills and recruitment, as well as an ongoing focus on Brexit and the controls on imports due to be introduced at the end of the year.
Have you got a story? If you are keen to speak to the media about a pressing issue – from Brexit readiness to skills shortages, urban restrictions to future logistics – or to shout about some of the great work your organisation is doing, we would love to hear from you. We are also keen to hear from those with personal achievements to shout about – maybe moving a very unusual load, staff members who have received special awards or with unusual hobbies or expertise. And as always, the media is keen to talk to women working across the industry – we are particularly on the lookout for female drivers who are happy to talk to the press. Please contact Eleanor, Freya or Rona in the media team at press.office@logistics.org.uk – we look forward to hearing from you!
