Month in the media – May 2022

Throughout May, the media team has once again been hard at work to ensure that Logistics UK and its members stay in the news in print, broadcast and online outlets. More than 200 pieces of editorial coverage were generated during the month.

Our pragmatic explanation as to why the Prime Minister should protect the Northern Ireland Protocol achieved national and international coverage, in titles including the Independent, MSN and on the Yahoo website.

Meanwhile, Logistics UK’s involvement in the second ITT Hub event at Farnborough, and our Future Logistics Conference, hit the headlines in the trade press, with editorial coverage generated including features about the event itself as well as details of some of the key presentations: more coverage of the event is anticipated over the coming months.

The shortage of skilled drivers, and Logistics UK’s involvement in Skills Bootcamps, continued to hit the headlines, while coverage of Logistics UK’s May ’22 Logistics Performance Tracker placed in several key trade titles drew attention to the pressures on operators caused by rapidly rising fuel and operating costs.

Highlights for the next month will include coverage which is currently being negotiated for the 2022 Logistics Report, one of the organisation’s key annual publications, as well as the next steps on the road to decarbonisation and the government’s response to the Northern Ireland protocol.
