Touring companies

Featuring testimonial from two of our members – Transam Trucking and Fly By Nite – the story received both print and online coverage with the national newspaper.
Northern Ireland Protocol
Logistics UK’s press team secured more than 160 pieces of coverage on the policy team’s assistance in helping the government reach a solution to the groupage challenges that were hindering trade between NI and GB. We also secured coverage in Sunday Times, Mail Online and The Independent on a number of issues affecting our NI members.
Avail Partnership
Logistics UK’s press team launched the business group’s new partnership with Avail, a driver hire app, securing coverage across key transport titles including Motor Transport, Fleet News, Transport & Logistics, Forwarder, Commercial Motor and Greenfleet.
Net zero targets
Logistics UK’s press team secured coverage in The Times – both online and in print – on Logistics UK’s calls for there to be practical alternatives available to petrol and diesel HGVs before the government enacts a phase-out of these vehicles.
The month ahead
With various grace periods and temporary measures designed to ease the transition to the post-Brexit trading environment due to end from April 2021, Logistics UK’s media team will support the policy team in pushing for the agreement of long-term solutions to support our members. Other priorities for the next month include continued outreach to support the plight of touring companies, as well as campaigning for action on skills and driver shortages.
Have you got a story?
If you are keen to speak to the media about a pressing issue – from Brexit readiness to skills shortages, urban restrictions to future logistics – or to shout about some of the great work your organisation is doing, we would love to hear from you. We are also keen to hear from those with personal achievements to shout about – maybe moving a very unusual load, staff members who have received special awards or with unusual hobbies or expertise. And as always, the media is keen to talk to women working across the industry – we are particularly on the lookout for female drivers who are happy to talk to the press. Please contact Eleanor, Freya or Rona in the media team at press.office@logistics.org.uk – we look forward to hearing from you!
