Generation Logistics Case Study

Imani, Road Sales Apprentice – Kuehne+Nagel.

This Apprenticeship programme provides a range of skills Imani needs to use in a fast-moving sales environment, including how to quickly identify a customer’s needs, how to promote the features and benefits of vehicles and how to negotiate sales.

The role of a vehicle sales professional can include include: Greeting customers in a showroom environment Identifying customer needs and advising them on the most suitable vehicle, arranging test drives, negotiating sale and trade-in prices, working out finance arrangements, processing orders and completing paperwork, liaising with other colleagues to arrange vehicle ordering and delivery, and contacting potential new customers

Learning through apprenticeships at Kuehne+Nagel offers several benefits including practical, on-the-job training which allows individuals to learn by doing real work.

The apprenticeships come with structured learning plans, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive training tailored to their roles. Mentors are always on hand to offer guidance and support to facilitate personal and professional growth.

Imani likes her apprenticeship for numerous reasons. The first being the experience she can gain in such a short period of time which, she says, is down to her colleagues always being there - willing to help and train her.

The second reason she enjoys the role so much is the exposure she gets: “Working for Kuehne+Nagel, you get to learn so much about the world of logistics," says Imani, "and what goes into doing a great job for our customers."

Lastly, the qualifications. Once Imani finishes her apprenticeship, she’ll have achieved not only a level 3 certificate in customer service, but also the level 4 qualification in sales.
