Telematics expert Webfleet sign up as a new Van Gold Partner

Telematics solutions are a vital tool for any transport operator. Not only do they have an important role to play in supporting compliance, but they can also be used to digitise workflow and identify ways to increase fuel efficiency by offering insights into driver behaviour and enabling improved vehicle routing.

Driving behaviours can have a significant impact on fuel consumption. This can include sharp acceleration and harsh breaking, engine idling, and the use of air conditioning/heaters. With escalating fuel costs a critical contributor in the 16.7% rise in total vehicle operating costs (for the six months to 1 July 2022, as reported in Logistics UK's Manager's Guide to Distribution Costs report) increasing fuel efficiency and protecting tight profit margins is a priority for many operators. By using telematics to analyse driver performance, operators are able to identify and act upon potentially costly behaviours behind the wheel.

Logistics UK is therefore delighted to announce Webfleet, Bridgestone's globally trusted fleet management solution, as a new Van Gold Partner. Servicing drivers in more than 100 countries, their innovative software helps businesses of all sizes to improve vehicle performance, save fuel and increase overall fleet efficiency and productivity.

Beverley Wise, Webfleet Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, comments: “We are thrilled to become a Logistics UK Van Gold Partner.

"Logistics UK has an outstanding reputation within the van sector, providing valuable information through webinars, in-person events and member communications such as Logistics Magazine, email bulletins and social media. We are delighted to partner with them to offer bespoke solutions to suit the varied nature of Logistics UK’s member businesses, who we look forward to meeting with and supporting throughout the year.”
