Generation Logistics case study: Ryan Donald, Apprentice Mechanic, The Russell Group (Engineering)

For Ryan, doing the apprenticeship was a natural step, turning a passion into a career.

“I helped out in a few car garages, and this was where I discovered my enthusiasm for mechanics and decided I wanted to pursue an apprenticeship,” he explains.

With that in mind, he knew that the logistics industry was a great way to nurture and develop his enthusiasm, especially given how important mechanical skills are to the everyday operation of vehicles, as well as air and sea fleets.

“I’m learning on the job. Doing tasks that I don’t have previous experience in can be challenging, but it’s rewarding when they are done.”

Ryan’s apprenticeship is only part of his career development. He’s also studying hard at college for the qualifications he needs to take his career to the next level.

We wish him well in his endeavours.
