TVL Security and Ford tackle van theft

Advertorial Content

Vehicle and contents theft is a key concern among van operators; in the first six months of 2020, there were 11,729 recorded incidents of contents theft from vans and light commercial vehicles. Drivers and businesses and operators are keen to do all they can to reduce the threat, with 80% of respondents to Logistics UK’s Van Security Survey noting they would pay extra for additional factory fitted security measures.

To help combat the issue, Logistics UK Van Gold Partner – TVL Security – has partnered with Ford to offer customers a wider range of additional security products as factory fit options on both Ford Custom and Ford Transit vans across Europe.

Laura Moran, Managing Director, TVL Group comments: “It was a natural extension of our close working relationship with Ford to develop our range of aftermarket security products for factory fit options.  The TVL innovation team have been collaborating with the Ford engineering team for several months to design and manufacture exclusive versions of our products that are positioned in the vehicle to deliver optimum performance and protection for van operators.”

Mandy Dean, Commercial Vehicle Director, Ford of Britain, said: “Ford is continually looking at new ways to improve vehicle security as new technology develops and we know security is a particular concern for Britain’s builders and traders. It isn’t just vehicles themselves being targeted by thieves but also the tools inside them. Our partnership with TVL goes a step further in our mission to help keep customers’ vehicles safe.”

Ford is the first commercial vehicle manufacturer to offer a range of additional factory fit options for security products, that have previously only been available in the aftermarket. As part of Logistics UK’s Van Security Report in November 2020, the business group expressed its interest in working with van manufacturers and vehicle security equipment manufactures to understand and explore what additional features could be developed and is thrilled that Ford and Gold Partner TVL Security are offering this exciting breakthrough.
