Logistics UK's 225 mile pedal-power trek for Macmillan Cancer Support


On 5 September, an intrepid crew of LYCRA-clad Logistics UK cyclists will begin their three-day, 225 mile journey from York to London in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Dates: 5 to 7 September.

Fundraising target £3000.00 (Dig deep people!)

Riders

Mark Jones (aka Bradly Wiggins) – National training instructor

Tim Hyde (aka Mark Cavendish)) – Head of Retail operations

Ian Dunn (aka Geraint Thomas)  – Strategic Development Manager

Craig Foulkes (aka Tom Pidcock ) – Full stack developer

Martin Candish (aka Chris Froome) – Head of compliance information and Members advice centre

A support van (Electric)  is kindly being supplied by Logistics UK members, Dawsons Group Vans Ltd.

Support team (ensuring all riders are safe on the roads, fed, watered and refuelled as required - also making sure the ice baths are ready!):

Chris Lipscomb – Director of Operations

Al Richardson – Head of membership and affinities.

The Plan

Day 1 Thursday Sept 5th

Set off from York Minster, 12.00hrs.

Steady Ride to Newark which is approximately 75 miles.

Arrive Newark approx. 18.00-19.00.

Overnight stay in Newark.

Day 2 Friday Sept 6th

Set off approx. 08.00hrs.

Steady Ride to Flitwick (100 miles).

Arrive Flitwick 17.00-18.00hrs.

Overnight in Flitwick.

Day 3 Saturday Sept 7th

Set off at 08.00hrs.

Ride to Westminster (50 miles).

Arrive approx. 12.30 hrs.

Lots of posing and celebrating for the awaiting crowds.

Hopefully this will involve beer in the lovely sunshine!
