Exploring the effects of COVID-19 on logistics

Van Gold Partners

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the importance of logistics to all sectors of the national economy as the industry has worked tirelessly to ensure that the food, medical supplies and other essential items the nation needs, are delivered and businesses are able to continue working.

However, it has also impacted the way in which the industry operates. And as more long-term effects of the Covid-19 crisis emerge, it is vital to assess how the pandemic is affecting the sector. As a result, expert futurologist Fergus McVey of 7th Sense Research will be headlining Logistics UK’s virtual Future Van Conference on 27 November 2020 to identify issues arising from the ongoing slowdown of the economy and other impacts of COVID-19 on the sector’s operations.

During the event, his session, titled ‘The World Now’, will discuss how operator opinions have changed during lockdown, how logistics can help support societal and economic recovery and what COVID-19 means for the automation of logistics. Using robust qualitative and quantitative research, the sessions will arm operators, manufacturers and industry leaders with the knowledge they need to move forward in this rapidly evolving sector.

At the event, sponsored by The AA, Bott Ltd, Brigade Electronics, Hertz UK, Lex Autolease, Quartix and TVL, cutting-edge, immersive technology will enable delegates to ask questions to speakers via text or video chat and engage with leading logistics industry suppliers online in the Exhibition Hall.

The event promises to bring together some of the most innovative minds in the industry to discuss and debate the key topics that are driving the vans market forward. Other sessions include Electrifying your Van Fleet, Autonomous Vehicles, Ultra-Light Logistics and EV Power Solutions.

Places at Logistics UK’s Future Van Conference can be booked for £199 + VAT for Logistics UK members or £250 + VAT for non-members.  For more information, or to book your place, visit  https://logistics.org.uk/futurevan or call 03717 11 22 22*.
