NASA’s choice and possibly yours – the new Canoo electric van

Say hello to the future of van technology and styling. If it’s good enough for NASA, it might be good enough for your future EV van fleet!

The Canoo Lifestyle Vehicle (LV) is a battery electric vehicle with multiple body styles sharing a common platform, including minivan, cargo van, and pickup truck, manufactured and marketed by Canoo.

They recently unveiled two electric delivery vans and announced a third one on the way. These vans are described as ‘Lifestyle Delivery Vehicles’ with futuristic styling and come in various body styles, including short and medium wheelbase vans and a pick-up.

They offer up to 450 cubic feet of cargo space and an EPA-estimated range of up to 230 miles. The vans have caught the eye of NASA who have ordered a fleet of transportation vehicles for Artemis missions.

Canoo also made its UK debut at the CV Show 2024 where Logistics UK’s Senior Policy Manager Denise Beedell enjoyed a visit to Canoo’s stand to see for herself what the buzz was all about: “It was great to get up close and personal with these innovative new vehicles at the NEC last month.

"They have some very interesting features including a viewing panel under the dashboard which will help drivers operate safely on busy urban roads with lots of vulnerable road users.

"While decarbonising van fleets brings many challenges, it also brings lots of opportunities too for new vehicle designs that challenge conventional vehicle set ups.”
