Civil Aviation Authority - Hydrogen Sandbox  

The Civil Aviation Authority is inviting industry, academia and organisations to join its Regulatory Sandbox to test hydrogen technologies that support the use of hydrogen as an aviation fuel. The tests will identify hazards, risks, safety challenges and gaps in current CAA regulations and evaluate the proposed mitigations through verification and validation.  Released 27/11/2023 - closes 10/01/2024.  

Competition and Markets Authority - Retained Liner Shipping Consortia Block Exemption provisional decision  

The CMA is consulting on a provisional decision not to recommend replacement of the Liner Shipping Consortia Block Exemption Regulation (the 'Retained CBER') with a new UK block exemption order. Released 17/11/2023 - closes 15/12/2023.  

Welsh Government – Road safety strategy  

Welsh Government wants to hear your views about road safety, so we can understand your priorities and how to make roads safe for all. Released 08/11/2023 - closes 31/01/2024.  

European Scrutiny Committee - EU Entry/Exit and the UK border  

The European Union’s (EU) proposals to introduce a new Entry/Exit System to replace manual passport stamping will usher in a new way of handling people leaving the UK to holiday in the Schengen Area. Released 06/11/2024 - closes 12/01/2024.

DfI - Newry Southern Relief Road - overview  

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Southern Division is advancing the design and development of a new strategic road link to the south of Newry City, between the A1 Dublin Road dual carriageway and A2 Warrenpoint Road dual carriageway. This would provide an alternative route for strategic traffic that avoids Newry City centre. Released 14/08/2023 - closed 13/11/2023.   

  

DfT - Updating GB type approval for road vehicles  

Consultation on whether to update the GB road vehicle type approval scheme to accept certain new safety and environmental standards. Released 12/10/2023 - closed 10/11/2023.

24/11/2023 - Multi Department - Nissan triples investment in electric vehicle production in the UK  

Nissan is delivering up to £2 billion of new investment to produce two new electric vehicle models in Sunderland.  

24/11/2023 - DfT - Public attitudes to the use of AI in DfT consultations and correspondence  

Explores public perceptions of the use of artificial intelligence to analyse consultation responses and support the drafting of external correspondence responses.  

24/11/2023 - Multi Department - The Public Charge Point Regulations 2023 guidance  

Guidance for operators of publicly accessible electric vehicle charge points on the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023.  

23/11/2023 - DVSA - DVSA publishes its Market Surveillance Unit (MSU) programme results  

DVSA has published its first Market Surveillance Unit (MSU) report on vehicle and component testing. The MSU inspects vehicles, trailers, parts and equipment to make sure they are safe for people to buy and use. It also checks that they meet current and relevant environmental standards.  

23/11/2023 - DVLA - Introducing the Driver and vehicles account  

The Driver and vehicles account is DVLA’s new online service, which allows motorists to view their driver and vehicle information in one place and receive digital tax reminders.  

23/11/2023 - DfT - £5.3 million investment in innovative projects to make railways more accessible

21/11/2023 - Multi Department - Record wage boost for nearly 3 million workers next year  

Biggest ever increase to the National Living Wage, worth over £1,800 a year for a full-time worker, fulfils manifesto pledge to end low pay.  

21/11/2023 - Automated Vehicles Bill 2023  

The 2023 Automated Vehicles Bill will set the legal framework for the safe deployment of self-driving vehicles in Great Britain.  

21/11/2023 - The Railways (Revocation and Consequential Provision) Regulations 2024  

This Statutory Instrument (SI) revokes certain pieces of retained EU law (assimilated law from 1 January 2024) and makes amendments to existing legislation consequential on those revocations.
