BEIS – Review of Net Zero: call for evidence

Chris Skidmore MP invites evidence on the government’s approach to delivery its net zero target, as part of an Independent Review of Net Zero. Released 29/09/2022 – closes 27/10/2022.

IfATE – Transport & Logistics route review

The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) has launched a major review of transport and logistics skills training and wants feedback on what is working and what needs to change. Released 22/09/2022 – closes 04/11/2022.

European Commission – Vehicle safety – revising the EU’s roadworthiness package

The objective of this public consultation questionnaire was to gather views from different stakeholders and citizens on the revision of three EU Directives. Improving road safety, reducing air pollutant emissions, and facilitating the free movement of goods and people are the main objectives of the potential revision of these Directives. Released 06/07/2022 – closed 28/09/2022.

GBR – Rail Freight Growth Target Call for Evidence

The purpose of this call for evidence was to develop an understanding of how much of the current and future market demand for freight could be met by rail, and the role rail could play in the nation’s supply chains. Released 05/07/2022 – closed 27/09/2022.

DfT – L-category vehicles: ending sales of new non-zero emission models

Proposed ending new non-zero emission L-category vehicles sales by 2035, and 2030 for other specified vehicles. Also sought views on exemptions, enforcement and alternative fuel use. Released 14/07/2022 – closed 21/09/2022.

DfT – Strategic road network and the delivery of sustainable development updates

DfT proposed changes to a circular that explains how National Highways will engage with the planning system. It also gave details on how National Highways will fulfil its remit to be a delivery partner for sustainable economic growth whilst maintaining, managing and operating a safe and efficient strategic road network. Cabinet Office – The UK Single Trade Window: Consultation on Features to Inform Design and Legislation

In December 2020 the government published the UK Border Strategy. This consultation set out the Cabinet Office's vision for the UK border to be the most effective in the world. Released 21/07/2022 – closed 15/09/2022.

BEIS – Land rights and consents for electricity network infrastructure: call for evidence

BEIS is seeking views on the current land rights and consents processes for electricity network infrastructure. Released 04/08/2022 – 15/09/2022.

Home Office – Clandestine Entrant Civil Penalty Scheme

The Home Office consulted on new regulations related to vehicle security and a new Level of Penalty: Code of Practice. Released 18/07/2022 – closed 12/09/2022.

Law Commission – Remote Driving

The UK Government’s Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) and the International Vehicle Standards team at the Department for Transport asked the Law Commission to clarify the current legal status of remote driving and consider whether reforms are needed.
