DfT – A zero emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate and CO2 emissions regulation for new cars and vans in the UK

Seeking views on the final design of the UK’s ZEV mandate and CO2 emissions regulation for new cars and vans. Released 30/03/2023 – closes 24/05/2023.

 

DfT – Pathway to net zero aviation: developing the UK sustainable aviation fuel mandate

Proposes the UK sustainable aviation fuel mandate which requires jet fuel suppliers to blend SAF into aviation fuel, from 2025, thereby reducing CO2 emissions. Released 30/03/2023 – closes 22/06/2023.

DfT – Night-time noise abatement objectives for the designated airports

This consultation seeks views and evidence on what a night-time noise abatement objective should be for the noise designated airports (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted) from October 2025. Released 27/03/2023 – closes 09/05/2023.

House of Commons Transport Committee – National Networks National Policy Statement
The House of Commons Transport Committee has launched an inquiry into the draft revised National Networks National Policy Statement (NNNPS). Released 24/03/2023 – closes 15/05/2023.

LPC – Low Pay Commission consultation 2023

The Low Pay Commission is seeking evidence to inform recommendations on minimum wage rates in 2024 and beyond. Released 23/03/2023 – closes 09/06/2023.

DfT – Draft revised national networks national policy statement

Seeking views on the draft revised national networks national policy statement (NNNPS) 2023 and accompanying documents. Released 14/03/2023 – closes 06/06/2023.

DfT – Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) changes

Proposals for reforms to how drivers renew and evidence their DCPC and how exceptional circumstances could be dealt with. Released 02/03/2023 – closes 27/04/2023.

DfT – Changes to the date of the first MOT test and research into other MOT enhancements

Sought views on whether DfT should change the timeframe for the first date a vehicle should be MOT tested and evidence and views on other changes to MOT testing. Released 18/01/2023 – closed 22/03/2023.

Labour Policy Forum – Labour Policy Forum Consultation 2023

The NPF consultation was an important opportunity for Labour to hear from its members, supporters and stakeholders on how the next Labour government can create a fairer, greener and more dynamic Britain for all. Released 31/01/2023 – closed 17/03/2023.

Welsh Government – Just Transition to Net Zero Wales

The Welsh Government wanted evidence to inform the development of Wales’ decarbonisation pathway to net zero. It will also provide an initial step towards potentially developing a Just Transition Framework for Wales. Released 06/12/2022 – closed 15/03/2023.

London Assembly – London Assembly investigation into road user charging

The London Assembly Transport Committee launched an investigation into the future of smart road user charging in London. It will consider the practical issues around the potential introduction of smarter road user charging in London. Released 09/02/2023 – closed 10/03/2023.

DfT – RVAR exemption: Glasgow Subway Stadler electric multiple units

Public consultation for exemption request in respect of Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (RVAR). Released 06/02/2023 – closed 06/03/2023.

17/03/2023 – DVSA – Free rolling tyres: changes to the annual test from 1 April

From 1 April 2023, free rolling tyres (FRTs) fitted to front steering axles will be treated as a major deficiency at annual test.

17/03/2023 – DVSA – New Official Highway Code app launched

On 17 March, DVSA’s official publisher, The Stationery Office, launched a new Highway Code app. 

16/03/2023 – DVSA – Changes to decelerometer calibration requirements at Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) and Privately Owned Test Facilities (POTFs)

From 1 April 2023, DVSA will be changing the requirements for the calibration of decelerometer brake testing equipment.

The heavy goods vehicle (HGV) levy is suspended until 31 July 2023. A reformed HGV levy will come into effect on 1 August 2023 with a revised structure and rates.
