Welsh Government – Just Transition to Net Zero Wales 

The Welsh Government wants your evidence to inform the development of Wales’ decarbonisation pathway to net zero. It will also provide an initial step towards potentially developing a Just Transition Framework for Wales. Released 06/12/2022 – closes 15/03/2023.

ORR – PR23 financial framework consultation 

This consultation seeks views about ORR’s financial framework for Network Rail in CP7. Released 19/12/2022 – closes 24/02/2023.  

Bath and North Somerset Council – Class N3 Euro 6 diesel HGV charge consultation 

The council is seeking your opinions about its proposals to introduce a charge for Class N3 Euro VI Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) entering the charging zone in Bath. It has also included proposals for a two-year exemption from the charge, if you are an eligible local business or HGV operator. Released 13/12/2022 – closes 07/02/2023.  

Transport Select Committee – Call for Evidence into Strategic Road Investment in England 

Call for evidence following National Audit Office (NAO) report published in November 2022 on progress in delivery and management of the Road Investment Strategy 2 (RIS2), which runs from 2020 to 2025. The NAO’s report said that the Department for Transport and National Highways could have done more to manage the potential risks to the portfolio of enhancement works in RIS2 which has led to less work being completed, at a higher cost than planned. Planning is underway for Road Investment Strategy 3, which will run from 2025 to 2030. Released 20/12/2022 – closes 06/02/2023. 

OTC – Senior Traffic Commissioner’s statutory guidance and statutory directions: 2022 revisions 

Senior Traffic Commissioner’s Statutory Documents: consultation on 2022 revisions. Released 12/12/2022 – closes 15/01/2023.

Department for Infrastructure – Supplementary Information to the Environmental Statement Addendum (2022) 

Views were invited from the public on A5 Supplementary Environmental Information published by the Department. Released 07/11/2022 – closed 23/12/2022. 

Scottish Government – Skills delivery independent review: call for evidence 

In September 2022, the Minister for Higher Education, Further Education, Youth Employment and Training set out to parliament that he would be initiating an independent review of the skills delivery landscape in Scotland as part of work to ensure that the skills system is fit for purpose for delivering Scotland’s national outcomes and meeting future economic challenges, including the transition to net zero. Released 28/10/2022 – closed 23/12/2022. 

Cambridgeshire County Council – GCP Making Connections 2022 

Have your say on proposals for faster, cheaper, more reliable bus services and safer cycling through the introduction of a Sustainable Travel Zone. Released 17/10/2022 – closed 23/12/2022. 

Department for Infrastructure – Consultation on the ban of tyres 10 years or older on heavy goods vehicles, buses, coaches and minibuses 

This consultation sought views about the proposal to introduce legislation in the North of Ireland which bans the use of tyres 10 years or older on certain vehicle types. The ban would apply to the front axles of heavy goods vehicles, buses and coaches and to all axles of minibuses when fitted in single configuration, but does not include private cars. Released 24/10/2022 – closed 18/12/2022.  

Welsh Parliament – Electric vehicle charging 

The Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee (Welsh Parliament) launched an inquiry into the Welsh Government's electric vehicle charging strategy. Released 21/11/2022 – closed 14/12/2022. 

National Highways – A46 Newark Bypass 

National Highways consulted on proposals for the A46 Newark Bypass scheme and wanted views on the latest design. Released 26/10/2022 – closed 12/12/2022.

28/12/2022 – DVSA – What changed in 2022 for MOT testing 

DVSA wanted to reflect on the changes and improvements that have been made this year. For MOT testing it updated the MOT manuals, improved its digital services and celebrated the highest number of testers completing their annual assessment on time. 

28/12/2022 – DVSA – What changed in 2022 for heavy vehicle testing 

DVSA wanted to reflect on the changes and improvements that have been made this year. For heavy vehicle testing, it focused on brake testing, developing a digital account for ATFs and continuing with the heavy vehicle testing review recommendations. 

23/12/2022 – Multi Department – Strategic road network and the delivery of sustainable development 

How National Highways engages in plan-making and decision-taking to support the delivery of sustainable development. 

20/12/2022 – Multi Department – Getting to the Point: Accelerating EV chargepoint rollout through geospatial data 

The Geospatial Commission published a report on how location data can help build an electric vehicle chargepoint network that works for everyone, everywhere 

19/12/2022 – DfT – £2 bus fare cap

19/12/2022 – DfT – Millions encouraged to Get Around for £2 by bus 

New scheme to help passengers save on bus fares launched for over 130 routes. 

15/12/2022 – DVSA – Update: DVSA enforcement sanctions policy 

Update: Action Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) traffic examiners take to deal with offences, including warnings, prohibition notices and fixed penalties. 

15/12/2022 – DVSA – New Driver CPC part 2 learning resource
