Seeks views on what safety standards should be sought for automated (self-driving) vehicles in the UK. Released 10/06/2025 – closes 01/09/2025.

 

Multi Department - Automated vehicles: protecting marketing terms

Seeks views on protecting the use of certain terms in vehicle marketing so they can only be used for authorised automated (self-driving) vehicles. Released 10/06/2025 – closes 01/09/2025.

 

DfT - Proposed revision of the national policy statement for ports

Draft revised national policy statement for ports. Released 04/06/2025 – closes 29/07/2025.

DfT - Net zero ports: challenges and opportunities

DfT will be producing policy for net zero carbon practices of vessels docked at ports.

DfT were looking to understand the:

  • Activities, challenges and developments at these ports.
  • Issues faced, both now and in the future, by these ports for decarbonisation.

DESNZ - Solar on car parks and electric vehicle charging

DESNZ sought views on a proposal to mandate the installation of solar canopies on new outdoor car parks, subject to certain exemptions, as well as views around current planning policy relating to EV charging infrastructure. Released 07/05/2025 – closed 18/06/2025.

From 18 June 2025, if your Operator Licence has an email address recorded, you’ll receive prohibition notifications by email instead of by post. 

 

13/06/2025 – OTC - The End of Light Goods Vehicle Acquired Rights

Since May 2022, transport companies and couriers using vans and car and trailers over 2.5 tonnes to transport goods in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland have needed a Standard International Goods Vehicle Operator Licence and have a designated transport manager.

03/06/2025 – DVSA - Annual Test: Tachograph Seal Clarification

1C tachograph seals have a `snap off` section which must be completely snapped off by the tachograph centre carrying out the tacho calibration/repair.

If this section has not been completely snapped off, the tachograph is deemed not to be sealed in accordance with the regulations.

Therefore, it will be a failure at MOT (annual test).
