Kevin Green, Policy & Communications Director, Logistics UK

The Future Freight Plan - two years on

In June 2022, the Government published the Future of Freight Plan, the first-ever cross-modal and cross-government plan for the UK freight transport sector. Hear about the key themes and projects in the plan, what has been delivered in partnership, and what's next.

Iain Forbes, Director Logistics and Borders, Department for Transport

Future of international trade

The UK is a trading nation, with the logistics sector enabling more than £1 trillion of international goods trade per year. However, in recent years it has had to manage significant change, from the exit from the EU, impacts of the war in Ukraine, disruption in the Red Sea and the overall effects of shifts in geopolitics. We will discuss how, in an increasingly unstable world, logistics businesses can keep supply chains resilient and impacts on customers minimised.

James Golding, Head of Cargo, Heathrow Airport

Robert Hardy, CEO, EORI UK

Future of decarbonisation of logistics operation

Logistics transport contributes 10% to 14% of total UK emissions, meaning the sector has a significant obligation to decarbonise. However, with the path to net zero dependent on new technologies, fuels, infrastructure and more, this is no simple challenge. Our panel will discuss what is needed to achieve a fair transition to a green economy, that keeps costs down and supply chains resilient.

Carlos Rodrigues, Managing Director, Renault Trucks

Graeme Cooper, Global VP – Energy Transition/Cross Market Solutions | Energy & Power, Jacobs

Kate Broome, Sustainability and Social Impact Director, Kuehne + Nagel Ltd

Future of transport infrastructure

The UK’s logistics sector is becoming ever smarter and more integrated, within businesses and between logistics sites and transport modes – and the infrastructure it relies on needs to become more integrated and multimodal too. Our panel will discuss how to ensure the UK's transport and energy infrastructure can deliver the logistics sector's needs, and the role technology will play in that.

Dr Josey Wardle, Innovation Lead – ZEV Infrastructure, Innovate UK

Andrew Scott, Product Director, TVS Interfleet

Elliot Shaw, Chief Customer and Strategy Officer, National Highways

Future of the workforce

The logistics sector is changing. It is at the centre of the introduction of cutting-edge technologies which are set to reshape the workplace, while also managing the pressures that come with an ageing population. However, too few people understand the breadth of the sector and the job opportunities it brings. Our panel will discuss how the sector can challenge perceptions to attract new entrants, while nurturing talent to be ready to deliver for the future.

Phil Roe, President, Logistics UK

Future of urban logistics

The UK continues to urbanise, bringing with it increasing competition for land and space on transport networks, and poses new questions over how to deliver sustainable, green and safe places to live and work. We will discuss the role of new urban logistics solutions to deliver for customers and communities.

Peter Griffin, Director UK, what3words

Chris Hyde, Managing Director - Convenience & Food Services, GXO Logistics
