Electric/Hybrid Vehicle - Safety Awareness Course
This course is designed to support learners to work safely within the logistics industry as it continues to see an increase in Electric/Hybrid vehicles entering the workplace. It will introduce the knowledge of safe working practices, the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles, and the precautions required to avoid potential injury when near these types of vehicles.
Course Overview
The content of this course has been designed to give learners the knowledge required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles and includes the following:
• Types of electric/hybrid vehicles available
• Hazards associated with motor vehicle high energy electrical systems
• Working safely around electric/hybrid vehicles including charging
As a result, learners successfully completing this course will acquire significant core knowledge of working safely around, but not maintaining electric/hybrid vehicles. Refer to L2/L3 IMI courses where working with heavy electric/hybrid vehicles.
Who is this course for?
This introductory course half-day online webinar awareness course is mapped to the IMI Level 1 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Qualification content and will enable learners to continue to work safely within their role. These roles can include, but are not exclusive to roles within the industry such as:
• Fleet management personnel
• Electric/hybrid professional vehicle drivers
• Vehicle hire companies
• Valeter’s and parts personnel
• Sales, and aftersales personnel
• Vehicle recovery personnel
• Vehicle dismantlers
• Vehicle damage assessors
• Insurance companies
What existing knowledge is needed?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Learners are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however, an interest in the subject area is advisable.

• Maximum 20 learners
Assessment*
To achieve Logistics UK certification learners must attain 70% pass with the online multiple-choice assessment (15 questions – 30 minutes).

*IMI Level 1 Qualification: Learners can opt to complete an IMI Level 1 qualification assessment, subject to exam centre availability – this will incur an additional registration and certification fee per learner. (e-Multiple Choice 15 questions – 30 minutes). This option can only be delivered as part of in-class delivery or by attending an appointed exam centre.
