Triple threat as Renault unveils three new fully electric vans

These models offer electric-only powertrains and new platform technology developed in collaboration with Flexis, a joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group, and CMA CGM Group​.

Trafic

More than 2.5 million Renault Trafics have been sold since its debut in 1980. The upcoming fourth-generation model will be the first model to be offered solely as an electric van, replacing the Trafic E-Tech Electric, which launched in 2023​.

Built on a skateboard-style platform, the new Trafic will feature:

– A fully integrated battery, optimizing space and reducing the need for additional structural support.

– A short front and rear overhang, enhancing maneuverability in urban environments.

– A 1.9m height, allowing access to underground car parks.

– An estimated 250-mile range, with some versions reaching up to 280 miles​.

– The Trafic’s long wheelbase and wheels positioned at the corners improve interior space and cargo capacity while maintaining a tight turning circle, similar to a Renault Clio​.

Renault Estafette: A High-Roof Urban Delivery Van

The Renault Estafette E-Tech is designed as a tall, roomy delivery van optimised for urban logistics.

Key features include:

– Height of 2.6m, allowing a 1.9m-tall driver to stand upright inside.

– A length of 5.27m and width of 1.92m, making it narrower than the current Trafic but longer than the short-wheelbase version.

– A single-piece rear roller door and sliding side doors, enhancing ease of access for deliveries.

– Panoramic front windscreen, improving visibility in city driving​.

Renault Goelette: A Flexible Platform for Conversions

The Renault Goelette E-Tech is designed to be highly customisable, catering to businesses that require specialist vehicle conversions​.

Three initial body styles will be available:

• Chassis cab
• Tipper truck
• Box van

The rear section is modular, allowing for a wide range of conversions, including refrigerated units and specialized cargo solutions​.

While Renault has not disclosed full powertrain details, Flexis has provided initial estimates:

– Up to 280 miles of WLTP range, depending on model configuration.

– Fast charging to 80% in under 20 minutes, making them practical for fleet operations​

Renault has yet to confirm pricing for the Trafic, Estafette, and Goelette E-Tech, but more details are expected in spring 2025. Production will take place at the Sandouville plant in France, with sales beginning in 2026​
