Campaign highlight – April 2026
In April, Logistics UK’s CEO Ben Fletcher and Interim Director of Policy and Communications Ben Garratt met with senior advisors to the Prime Minister at No 10 Downing Street.
As part of Logistics UK’s policy work, seeking to influence government on the issues most important to members, they discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the logistics sector, how it underpins the economy, and the specific pressures that the conflict in the Middle East creates for members.
Whilst meeting with advisors, they also took the opportunity to press the case for the planned 5p increase in fuel duty this September to be postponed. Should these current challenges continue for much longer, additional measures are undoubtedly necessary to support the sector’s resilience and help mitigate the risk of higher living costs and weaker growth.
Following the constructive conversation, Logistics UK is remaining in touch with the No 10 officials as the conflict continues to evolve and is also meeting with Department for Transport and Department for Business and Trade officials to continue to represent members’ views at this challenging time.
