Stellantis looks to turn combustion engine vans into hybrids

This version of the Opel Combo 4×4 replaces the traditional traction system and places a rear electric motor which helps with traction when the vehicle needs an extra boost of power.  

Dangel offers the transformation across other Stellantis models, especially for the group's small vans, for transporting both goods and passengers. The plan is for this transformation to also be applied to medium-sized vans, as both types of vans share EMP architecture.  

The system works together with the ESP system and allows the driver to manually adjust the Auto and Low modes, according to their needs.  

The transformation also features a suspension lift that raises ground clearance by 90 millimetres to improve off-road capabilities.  

The extra cost of transitioning to hybrid with Dangel is 9.400 euros above the price of the vehicle.
