RoRo vessel increases North Sea capacity

P&O Ferries is introducing a new RoRo vessel to its fleet: the Lismore, which will be deployed on the Zeebrugge-Tillbury route.

It will increase capacity for unaccompanied freight as well as offer customers greater space across the operator’s network.

The vessel features 4,076 lane metres and has the ability to carry up to 290 freight units, enabling P&O Ferries to support additional volumes from freight forwarders, logistics operators and shippers.

As sister ship to the Longstone, both vessels will be operated on the Zeebrugge-Tilbury route as an attractive option for customers moving unaccompanied trailers and other units between the UK and mainland Europe.

The Lismore can accommodate a wide variety of freight types including self-drive vehicles, trailers, lift units and loose plant and machinery.

The additional capacity is expected to better support growth plans of new and existing customers, particularly those involved in moving automotive, industrial, retail and project cargo.
