New service will keep rail freight operators abreast of emerging risks

Zaina Salim, Supply Chain Degree Apprentice – Asda

I’m Zaina Salim, and I’ve been a Supply Chain Degree Apprentice with Asda Logistics for the past two years.

During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to complete placements at Warrington ADC and Skelmersdale CDC, and I’m currently continuing my journey at Lymedale Clothing.

I’m originally from Manchester and studied at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls. With a background in sales, I chose to pursue this apprenticeship because I thrive in hands-on, fast-paced environments where I can learn by doing.

A career in logistics, especially within a dynamic and forward-thinking business like Asda, offers endless opportunities for growth and development.

Throughout this apprenticeship, I’ve gained valuable experience not only in the technical areas of supply chain management, but also in key leadership skills such as team management, delegation and supporting others.

The personal and professional development I’ve experienced, along with the strong relationships I’ve built, has been incredibly rewarding. I’m excited to keep building on this foundation and make the most of the time I have left on the programme.
