Cyber Security and Resilience Bill will strengthen supplier standards, says Logistics UK

The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill was debated in Parliament earlier this month.

The Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill had its first substantive debate in Parliament on 6 January.

The Bill would introduce a significant overhaul of the UK’s cyber security framework, including by expanding regulation beyond traditional essential services to a much broader range of digital and operational activities, including those on which logistics companies increasingly rely.

While the legislation establishes a broad framework, much of the substantive detail will be set through secondary legislation, with consultations expected throughout 2025–26.
