Certificate of Training Alternative Fuelled Commercial Vehicles
This mandatory course is aimed at holders of category B driving licences who wish to drive Alternatively Fuelled Vehicles (AFV), and Category C1 entitlement holders who wish to take advantage of the exemption from having to undertake Driver CPC training before driving AFVs with gross weights up to 4,250kgs.
What is an ‘Alternatively Fuelled Vehicle’ (AFV)
• An AFV is a motor vehicle powered by natural gas, biogas or hydrogen; or hydrogen and electricity.

Certification
Drivers who attend the 5 hours training will receive an National Register of Instructors (NRI) certificate of attendance confirming their entitlement to drive AFVs up to 4.25 tonnes MAM.
