Welsh government shares Freight Logistics, Ports and Maritime plan with Logistics UK

The objective of the plan is to secure a consensus view on the key areas of focus and delivery within the freight and logistics, port and maritime sector for the next government term in Wales.  

Logistics UK has long called for a plan and welcomes this development. The Welsh government has shared that the plan could cover the path to net zero, a blueprint for the established Welsh Logistics Council, and national resilience and innovation. 

Responding to the initial scoping document, Logistics UK has shared an extract from its UK Logistics Network report, which highlights key corridors for Welsh logistics and has also proposed that recommendations from the Irish Sea Taskforce are used to inform the freight plan work.  

Logistics UK will shortly be publishing its Welsh Manifesto ahead of Senedd elections next year, which will further outline positions and recommendations. As the plan evolves, Logistics UK will engage closely with the Welsh Government to represent members.
