Infrastructure announcements

Following the Chancellor’s announcements on infrastructure projects, including Heathrow expansion and the Lower Thames Crossing, Logistics UK’s comments were widely reported, including on the Telegraph, Express, Sun and Yahoo! websites. Broadcast interviews included BBC Radio 5 Live, Greatest Hits Radio and KMFM.

Amazon’s electric HGVs

Coverage was achieved in Mail Online and in the trade media for Logistics UK’s comments on Amazon's record order for new electric HGVs, and the company’s plans for rail and on-foot deliveries.

West Coast Main Line

The Times Online and the print edition of the Scottish Times published Logistics UK’s comments on closures planned for the West Coast Main Line.

Congestion

Logistics UK's comments on traffic congestion and its effect on economic growth were published in the print and online editions of The i paper.

Driver facilities

The print and online editions of The i Paper and MSN UK featured Logistics UK’s comments on facilities for drivers during Operation Brock.

The month ahead 

The new year sees the media team continuing to raise awareness of members’ opinions on issues affecting the sector, including investment in infrastructure, border issues and decarbonisation. The team will continue to focus on the industry’s skills shortages, promoting the Generation Logistics campaign at every opportunity and highlighting the need for improved driver facilities. Plans are under way for the promotion of Logistics UK’s exciting 2025 events programme.
