A snapshot of where the Logistics UK policy team has been and who they’ve seen in the past week.

CEO Ben Fletcher met with the Chancellor of the Exchequer alongside other industry leaders and Rachel Taylor MP. Discussions focused on the role the logistics sector plays in delivering for the economy and attracting inward investment.

Ben Fletcher also participated in the Department for Transport Freight Council, addressed by Transport Minister Keir Mather.

Senior Policy Manager Chris Yarsley, hosted Logistics UK’s Road Council following the round of member meetings held in January, with guest speaker Senior Traffic Commissioner Kevin Rooney joining.

Head of Trade Policy James Mills attended a Global Shippers Forum meeting.

Head of Road Freight & English Regions Policy Maddi Solloway-Price hosted a roundtable on PCNs with the British Parking Association.

Ben Fletcher, Senior Policy Manager Josh Fenton and members met with Plaid Cymru Transport Spokesman Peredur Owen Griffiths MS in Cardiff to discuss the scale of the logistics sector in Wales and opportunities for growth.

Engineering Policy Lead Arthur Gribbin held another Engineering Forum meeting, focusing on digital licence feedback and inspection manuals.

Deputy Director – Policy, Michelle Gardner, attended a roundtable with former Prime Minister Gordon Brown that was hosted by Amazon on charitable donations.

Michelle Gardner also participated in a roundtable on increasing SME exports.
