A driver’s daily walkaround check is a vital part of any maintenance system and requires continuous monitoring to ensure the checks are being performed correctly. At Logistics UK, we can organise scheduled visits from our engineers to simulate a DVSA visit at a frequency that suits you. These checks can be announced or unannounced visits – so you have the choice to let your drivers know that their walkaround checks could be audited at any point, or to have a surprise visit to get a true reflection of any defects left un-reported on vehicles headed out onto the road.

In addtion, the inspection supports the ‘Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness’ requirements to continually review the performance of driver daily walkaround checks.
How does it work?
When the vehicle is stopped, the driver’s daily walkaround check sheet will be checked and then a physical walkaround check of the vehicle will be conducted by the Logistics UK engineer. The engineer will review all elements of a walkaround check from mirrors, dashboard, and gauges, to brakes, tyres, and number plate.
A summary report for each site for all vehicles and trailers checked is produced, along with a more detailed report for each individual vehicle/driver, which can include photos of any defects found. All management data for all sites/drivers/vehicles checked is then presented in the Driver Gate Exit Dashboard in Logistics UK’s Vision.
