Our MAC Briefing sessions are exclusively for Logistics UK members and provide you with valuable information on key legislative changes and issues affecting the industry.
The briefings include sessions from our experts at the Member Advice Centre plus, at times, with key speakers from government agencies and across the industry. The MAC team actively encourage participation with polls and questions in these webinars.
MAC Briefings (formerly known as Member Briefings) take place between January and July, and this year they will all be presented by webinar. The MAC team will present further compliance updates at our Transport Manager 2026 event series, occurring between September to December 2026.

All the webinars are exclusively for our members and are relevant to all levels working within the road logistics industry, including those in vehicle operations and maintenance. They prove popular due to the breadth and depth of information provided, delivered from a pragmatic perspective.

09/09/2026 Unpacking Smart Data in Transport: what does it mean for operators?

This practical briefing brings together the latest employment law, regulatory expectations and real-world management challenges facing transport businesses today. In partnership with Stone King LLP, this session covers:

08/04/2026 Drivers’ hours, tachos and working time
Understanding and managing drivers’ hours, tachographs and working time remains one of the most significant compliance challenges for operators as there are several regulations to consider, whether you operate under assimilated rules, domestic rules or are exempt.
This MAC briefing focuses on key differences between the rules, record keeping requirements, and the use of tachographs to record domestic drivers’ hours rules, including the subject of manual entries which is still a popular query into the Member Advice Centre.
The briefing highlights the common mistakes made by tachograph users and how these can be avoided, as well as examining the common drivers’ hours and working time infringements users of our Vision platform experience.
18/03/2026 Human error – its influence on bridge strikes
Bridge strikes unfortunately remain a common occurrence within our industry and are not improving. Operators frequently have many policies and procedures in place, yet their drivers still hit bridges, with a subsequent investigation often finding human error being stated as the primary or only cause.
Professor Tim Marsh, an internationally acclaimed behavioural safety expert, shared his thoughts on why drivers keep hitting bridges no matter how often they are reminded of its vital importance. Tim is the self-confessed professor of mishaps and understanding why we as humans always make errors, and why businesses need to pro-actively manage the risk of error to prevent incidents, such as bridge strikes, occurring.

Managing the compliance of vehicles and drivers are two significant challenges in every transport operation. Utilising the Logistics UK Compliance Report and operational insight, the Member Advice Centre will be examining the headlines, covering a range of topics and highlighting areas which present the biggest risks to operators. Reflecting on changes in 2025 and looking forward to what is in store in 2026. Taking a walk through the calendar from September 2025 – December 2026, the team highlight and simplify the compliance challenges presented to the sector on topics such as the Northern Ireland Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, GB type approval and Euro 7 emissions.
