For category B drivers who passed their test after 1 January 1997, towing entitlement only allowed trailers up to 750kg maximum authorised mass (MAM). An additional driving test was required to gain +E entitlement allowing towing of trailers exceeding 750kg. In December 2021, +E entitlement was automatically added to these licences, which is explained in both the Fact Sheet and Compliance Sprint video.
