Logistics UK launches new emissions data service

“Emissions Reporting for Transport” is available to all Logistics UK members and is designed to support their journey to net zero and regulatory compliance, while meeting their customers’ sustainability requirements.

The business group’s members are fully committed to decarbonising, and many are already trialling or have adopted alternative fuels and technologies. Without accurate CO₂ emission data, informed decision-making is impossible, so Emissions Reporting for Transport is a strategic tool for managing the journey to net zero.

As more businesses begin reporting their indirect Scope 3 carbon emissions, suppliers will need to be able to provide this information, and often it will be a requirement of doing business. Currently, many smaller suppliers lack capacity or resources to be able to supply this information, but Emissions Reporting for Transport makes this information available in an accessible format.

To offer the new service, Logistics UK has partnered with BearingPoint, an independent management and technology consulting firm. It utilises BearingPoint’s comprehensive carbon management solution providing accurate CO₂ emissions data for legislative compliance, internal reporting and target tracking.

The partnership aims to create greater transparency in emissions reporting and help logistics companies plan, evaluate, implement and monitor green actions to reduce their environmental impact.
