Logistics UK enjoys the gift of giving

Logistics UK has raised more than £1,250 this year to support vital charity work across the globe, with fundraising efforts including participation in Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day and a recent Christmas hamper raffle – which raised £650 for homelessness and housing charity, Shelter.

Director of HR, Emma Emmett, explains: “We are thrilled to be able to take part in these opportunities and raise much-needed funds for such vital charities in the process. As a business organisation, Logistics UK runs a committed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. In addition to regular litter picks around areas in which our offices are based, staff also regularly participate in CSR days throughout the year, such as volunteering at local charities and participating in organised beach cleans.

“While CSR is a high priority throughout the year, we are especially excited to be participating in a number of charitable initiatives this season, including the Nourish Community Foodbank collection which delivers emergency food and supplies to people in crisis, providing them with short-term relief at a difficult time. In what has been a tough time for so many, it is vital that as a business organisation, we do all we can to give back to others.”

Other charities supported by Logistics UK this year include Cancer Research, Macmillan, Mind, The Captain Tom Foundation.

With COVID-19, Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc. Logistics UK supports, shapes and stands up for safe and efficient logistics, and is the only business group which represents the whole industry, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers whose businesses depend on the efficient movement of goods.
