Respect for retreads: Bandvulc launches 5th generation Deliverymaster tyre for LGV fleets – Continental

United Kingdom, April 08, 2026. Bandvulc, a brand of Continental, has unveiled the Deliverymaster 5 retread, the latest generation of its drive-axle tyre developed for regional LGV fleets.

The Deliverymaster 5 replaces the Regiomaster BDE1 across the 17.5” and 19.5” ranges and provides enhanced all-weather performance compared with its predecessor. It is engineered to support the requirements of regional applications and multi-drop retail routes.

Designed specifically for retail delivery fleets, the Deliverymaster 5 offers dependable performance across regional applications and demanding stop-start environments. Its 3PMSF-accredited tread pattern supports reliable grip across all seasons, while its tread geometry is developed to maximise surface contact and aid water dispersion on wet road surfaces.

Tony Mailling, Head of Hot Retread Production EMEA and ContiLifeCycle Plant Manager, said: “When developing the Deliverymaster 5, we worked closely with our customers to understand the operational pressures they face – particularly the increased risk of sidewall damage during intensive kerbside activity.

“The Deliverymaster 5 tyre has been developed as a tailored response to these insights, incorporating reinforced sidewall elements and design features intended to support fleets operating in challenging stop-start delivery environments.

“All tyres produced at our plant in Ivybridge are an important part of Continental’s circular lifecycle approach, helping operators make continued use of quality casings within the retreading process.”

As highlighted in Continental’s Respect for Retreads campaign, many fleets still overlook the potential of retreading to maximise casing value before disposal. By adopting a circular approach, operators can optimise their tyre assets over time and contribute to more resource-efficient fleet operations.

Depending on casing condition and operational use, premium retreads such as the Deliverymaster 5 can also form part of further retreading cycles, supporting extended mileage potential within a managed tyre lifecycle.
