Logistics UK jumps to help out the Easter Bunny
Staff at Tunbridge Wells-based business group Logistics UK leapt into action this week to brighten the lives of children spending the Easter break in hospital in Pembury. Led by Chief Executive Ben Fletcher, a team of volunteers delivered armfuls of chocolate Easter eggs and soft toys to the Hedgehog Ward at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospital’s Pembury site. These will be shared with children staying on the ward, as well as young patients spending time in A&E during the Easter period.
“Spending time in hospital is never fun, especially as a child,” explains Mr Fletcher, “so our Easter egg collection aimed to bring some seasonal cheer to those separated from their families over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“A simple gesture can make a meaningful difference, and it is great to see our team supporting children and their families who will be spending the holiday period in the hospital’s care. The hospital has been particularly important to my family over the past few months and continues to be so, and as an organisation we are delighted to support the amazing work that the incredible staff do to make childrens’ lives a little easier. Thank you to the Logistics UK team for all their generous donations, and to those who took time out of their days to help me deliver so many treats for staff and patients. We hope that everyone on Hedgehog Ward has a very happy Easter.”
