Logistics UK surveys

Logistics UK uses a range of member surveys to gather evidence about the challenges, opportunities and trends affecting the logistics sector. These surveys are a key part of how the organisation represents its members to government, regulators and other stakeholders.

Member survey results are shared anonymously and in aggregated forms to highlight findings with government officials, MPs, industry regulators and the sector itself to demonstrate the performance of the sector and support policy priorities.

For members, completing our surveys is one of the most direct ways to help shape the future of the sector.

Why our surveys are important:

Survey

Logistics Industry Survey

Conducted in January each year, The Logistics Industry Survey is our key benchmarking survey for Logistics UK members to share their views and help shape the agenda for the industry. The survey is a vital tool for assessing how the sector is performing and identifying the challenges and opportunities ahead. Results are used to inform our critical policy work and insight is shared with government officials.

Report

The Logistics Report 2026

The Logistics Report 2026 is Logistics UK’s annual review of the trends affecting the logistics industry in the UK and includes headline figures around the sector’s economic contribution, number of employees and goods traded. It also provides an up-to-date assessment of the issues those moving goods are facing, across all modes of transport and parts of UK logistics. Logistics underpins the whole economy – nothing moves without it.

Survey

Logistics Performance Tracker

The Logistics Performance Tracker (LPT) is a quarterly survey to improve understanding of the current condition of this vital industry sector. It also gives insights into logistics businesses’ financial health and outlook, and trends in the sector over the long term. Logistics UK also uses the findings to inform its responses to consultations on government policy. The quarterly survey findings are sent to respondents via email.

Manager's Guide to Distribution Costs

Our Manager’s Guide to Distribution Costs Survey runs annually in April, seeking insights from our members into quarterly costs for wages, vehicle operating costs and haulage rates for comparison against UK trends, helping us to produce the trusted guide used by Transport Managers and freight forwarders.

As a contributor, you’ll be asked to update your figures three times across the following year to ensure accuracy.

Survey

Transport Manager Survey Findings

The Transport Manager survey reports on the issues that affect the road haulage industry. The findings provide a comprehensive overview of transport managers’ assessment of the role they play in UK logistics and the state of the industry.
