Taking place immediately after our Annual Conference, the Sir James Whitehead Address is Logistics UK's yearly event for senior business leaders, policymakers and commentators. It explores key national and international challenges and their impact on the logistics industry (a sector vital for economic growth).
The address is named after Sir James Whitehead, who, as Lord Mayor of London, brought together leading traders in 1889 to campaign for improved services for moving goods. That initiative eventually became Logistics UK, one of the largest business groups in the UK.
This year's address:
Lee Jones, Professor of Political Economy and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London will provide a provocative overview of the current state of global political disorder, discuss what it means for UK domestic politics and international alliances, and draw out the implications for international trade and the logistics sector.
Following Professor Jones' political address, he will join an expert panel for further discussion and audience Q&A's. This year's panel will include Polly Mackenzie, political commentator, former Director of Policy to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and regular on the How to Win an Election podcast, and Kevin Green, Director of Policy and Communications at Logistics UK.
Following the Sir James Whitehead Address, we invite you to continue the conversation at our networking and drinks reception, running until 20:00. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow industry leaders, policymakers and speakers to exchange insights and build valuable relationships within the logistics community.
